“Celebrating 56 Years!
Meals and Snacks
For children old enough to eat table foods, RCC offers healthy and delicious lunches prepared by our own staff in our own kitchen. We also offer breakfast, morning snacks and afternoon snacks, with full menus being presented in advance for the coming week. All meals and snacks conform to USDA guidelines.
All meals are served family-style, with staff sitting and eating with children; parents are cordially invited to join any meal.
RCC is extremely aware of food allergies, so we operate a nut-free school. Parents also may send home-prepared meals and snacks to accommodate any food restrictions (although we strongly discourage non-nutritious junk food).
For infants and toddlers, parents may choose an RCC-provided formula or, with a doctor's statement, a soy-based alternative. Older infants will be given appropriate baby foods following the USDA's recommended infant meal pattern. Parents may also supply their own foods, including breast milk, and mothers may breast-feed in privacy.
Reston Children's Center participates in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The center provides breakfast, lunch and snacks at no separate charge to all participants without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation. Learn more
