RCC is dedicated to serving its member families, so there are a variety of ways to tailor your child's program to fit your family's needs.
RCC operates on a 12-month schedule and is in session throughout the entire year; our regular business hours are from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Most, but not all, of RCC's programs operate on this 12-month schedule. Depending on your child's program you may drop off and pick up your child any time during regular business hours, but we encourage children to be dropped off in time to fully participate in the day's planned activities.
For the Infant & Toddler Program, you may choose to enroll your child for five days a week, three days a week or two days a week, and you may pick up and drop off your child any time during regular business hours.
For the Full-day Preschool Program, you may choose to enroll your child for five days a week, three days a week or two days a week , and you may pick up and drop off your child any time during regular business hours (although we encourage children to be dropped off by 9 am to take full advantage of the day's activities).
The Part-day Preschool Program follows a slightly different pattern; it runs from September to mid-June and follows the Fairfax County public school schedule. The two-and-a-half-year-old group meet Thursday and Friday mornings; the three-year-old group meets Monday through Wednesday mornings; and the four-year-old group meets Monday through Friday mornings. Part-day preschool hours are from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The Full-day Kindergarten Program meets five days a week, and it runs from September to June following the Fairfax County public school calendar. Kindergarten classes start at 9 am and end at 3:30 pm. Before and after school care is available at no extra cost.
The Before and After School Programs are designed for children who are enrolled in public elementary schools, but whose parents must drop them off or pick them up outside of regular school hours. Parents may drop off their children at RCC between 6:30 and 8:30 am, and RCC will transport your child to local elementary schools by school bus. Parents may also elect to have their children brought back to RCC after school has let out, and they may be picked up between 4 and 6:30 pm.
RCC also offers summer camp options to elementary school-age children (rising 1st graders to rising 6th graders)The summer camp is available on a weekly session basis from 9 am to 4 pm. Additional care is available starting at 6:30 am and ending at 6:30 pm at no extra cost.
