Infant/Toddler Program

The Infant/Toddler Program meets the developmental needs of children from six weeks to three years. There are crawling spaces, cozy areas, rocking chairs and toys to explore with special attention to the infants’ and toddlers’ perspective. Bright colors, low windows, small tables, soft furniture and laundry facilities give the Center a homelike atmosphere.

The RCC Infant/Toddler Program depends very much on parents and staff working together to meet each child’s individual needs. Parents are encouraged to visit and to come to feed their children.

In all Toddler programs the philosophy of RCC is carried out by the staff through the daily schedule, activities and teacher-child communication. The structure offers the children and opportunity to work and play with all Toddler children as well as to work and play in very small groups and individually. Breakfast, lunch and morning and afternoon snacks are served. The Infant/Toddler Program is in session whenever RCC is open.

For more information on choosing a quality caregiver for very young children, RCC suggests visiting the National Association for the Educators of Young Children (NAEYC) website and the Zero to Three website, sponsored by the National Center for Infants, Toddlers and Families.
