RCC’s Unique Approach to Children

Reston Children’s Center strives to be children’s home away from home. We mix professional care with a family’s sense of love and nurturing. Our daily activities help children develop the following qualities:

Independence
Learning to do things for themselves.
Making choices and accepting responsibility for those choices.

Self-Worth
Learning to respect themselves and to behave in a way that elicits respect from others.
Getting along with others, giving, caring and sharing affection.

Understanding and Self-control
Developing self-discipline.
Learning to see the effects of their actions on others.
Our goal is to support children in developing into confident, resourceful, capable adults. At the same time, we support parents in their own development—through careers, creative endeavors, civic responsibilities and leisure, development that benefits parents, child and community.
